Slough Together Musical Walk – 2010 |
|
Have fun discovering ‘The Thames and Jubilee Rivers and Eton College’, a 5 Mile walk on well-waymarked footpaths and signposted streets. Help your chosen charity – and enjoy the sound of music along the way.
The Rotary Club of Slough, motto, getting more out of life through working together for others, announce their third annual Slough together Walk and this time local bands and musicians will be helping walkers to step out. The Slough Together Musical Walk – 2010 takes place on Saturday 10th July and you can start anytime between 10 am and 3pm. A detailed map of the route is now available on the club’s website (www.sloughrotary.org.uk), together with full registration details and sponsorship forms. The route has many delights to discover. In just 5 miles there is the Brocas, Eton’s wall game field, Agars Plough, the Burning Bush, Eton Wick village, Eton College Gate, Historic Eton High Street and the Jubilee River and Thames footpaths. Entrance to the walk is from the B3026 at Dutchmans Gate onto Eton Playing Fields and there is plenty of free parking.
Naturally a charity walk means collecting sponsorship but don’t let sponsorship get you down, just come and enjoy the walk, it promises a great day out and there is a souvenir certificate for all finishers. The club aims to get as many people as possible to take part and individual walkers or family, charity, company and social teams are all welcome. So now is the time to get a group of friends or colleagues together for Slough Together Musical Walk –2010. Entry is £3 per adult in advance or £5 on the day with all accompanied children free and Slough Rotary are donating all the registration fees to the END POLIO NOW campaign.
You can register online now or send your name, address, postcode and telephone number together with a cheque (payable to Rotary Club of Slough) for the required fee to; Mr John Winyard, Rotary Club of Slough, Orchard Cottage, One Pin Lane, Farnham Common, Slough, SL2 3RA. Helping to ensure everyone enjoys the day are The Slough Observer, Honda Cars, O2, Grundon Waste Management Ltd and Citroen UK, Rotary’s generous sponsors for this year’s walk who are also providing free Baseball Caps, T-Shirts and souvenir Wrist Bands at the start. So who will you be walking for on Saturday 10th July as you step out on Rotary’s Musical Walk? |
