Slough Borough Council is holding its second Beginners Guide to Entrepreneurship event on September 22, called funding for pre-start-up businesses.

It’s designed to help people who are looking to set up and sustain themselves in business as an option to unemployment and for those who want to increase their income.

The topic was selected as a direct result of feedback from the previously successful event, where attendees stated how motivating the forum was and how it helped residents to decide on starting a new business.

Speakers on the night will be specialists in their field, with a clear focus on providing practical support to attendees.

Rafiq Chohan, assistant director economic development & inclusion for Slough Borough Council, said: “This event really is about helping people build on their entrepreneurial dreams and turning them into reality.

“It’s always very daunting to start a new business, but the council is committed to improving the local economy and skills of residents, especially in this current employment and economic climate.”

Commissioner for opportunity and skills, Cllr Fiza Matloob, added: “I’d urge anyone thinking about setting up their own business to go along to this event.

“Even if you don’t feel that now is the exact time for you to be self employed, the information, guidance and expertise given will be valuable for years to come.”

Anyone wishing to attend this free event or for further information, should contact Bobbi Johal at Slough Borough Council on 01753 476621 or email bobbi.johal@slough.gov.uk.
